On August 17th, 2023, I moved back to campus and caught the news that Muddy Waters was temporarily closing due to a fire. At the time I was taking Film 220: Documentary Theory and Production and inspired by the cafe's impact on the New London area, Isabela Paiao and I wanted to cover their story and with special thanks to Muddy Waters we were able to show how the cafe was doing one month after the incident.
